Hi all-
I'm having a problem downloading again. I cannot download unless I do it through my "WC Browser". Furthermore, the skins downloaded with the browser do not show up on my "WB Config", nor in "skin studio" if I have to alter something.
I am a level 4 user. Not only can I not download but as soon as I sign in the ratings disappear. This has been an ongoing problem since summer. Someone helped me straighten it out before but it's happening again and it's getting to be a real nuisance. > Please help.

BTW: don't panic..it's not as bad as you might think.

No, Zapper is not suppose to do that...but it re-enforces my thinking that your installs are wacked. If you deleted everything you could (including deleteing that C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral folder) then re-install SDC [remember, don't re-boot until after you re-install SDC]. After re-boot re-install each proggie and re-start as necessary.

Yep, when I opened the link it gave me the option to select all, which I did, so there was a check mark next to all the programs that I wanted to un-install. It appeared to un-install but when I went to check SDC everything looked the same.
However, I just clicked on the #35 link and now nothing shows up as if there were nothing left to un-install!?

OK...re-boot and then do #46. Look at my profile and those are the versions you're looking for...

Before I do all that I just have a question... in "All Programs" I have Stardock, Stardock Curdor XP, WinCustomize, and Object Dock all with their own menus and sub-menus is that the way it's supposed to be? It's kind of confusing, but I just wanted to check with ya.

That's fine ....re-boot

OK, I rebooted and re-installed... that (see pic) is what it looks like now. Of course now that I re-instsalled it is going to let me download for a while, but eventually I'll have the downloading problem again. Unless what we did fixed it permantenly. Ya think..?

This is the install from hell....did you delete the SDCentral folder before you re-installed SDC? (all the dates are right and some of the versions are wrong...again). Try downloading a WB skin and see if it installs.

Yeah, I finally got the SDC folder deleted.
Yep, I thought so....it's letting me download whatever I want.

OK.. it should keep doing it, but here's the rub. Your ThemeManager is (or shows) as the wrong version and when you use it, it may dink your WB again. Have you tried a right click in SDC on ThemeManager to un-install it just to see what version it gives you to install?

No, I haven't tried that...
Is the "ThemeManager" and "WinStyles" the same thing?
Cause when I re-insstalled WinStyles it was 1.5.
on Jan 03, 2004
Stay away from WinStyles....un-install ThemeManager (re-boot) and then re-install ThemeManager only. WinStyles will take care of itself. If this works and gives you the right version, you may have to do it with the other apps...one thing at a time tho...try this first.

OK, I have never installed "ThemeManager"....so I don't really know what it is. The only thing I re-installed were the programs I originally installed a long time ago.
That may be the problem...I don't know.
As I slowly became familiar with Wincutomize I added "Winstyles", "CursorXP" and "IconPackager". But, I don't recall ever installing or using "StardockCentral" until that time that you helped me out... and I never installed "ThemeManager" either.
Does that have anything to do with all this?

I started the un-install and got this (see pic) should I just continue?
on Jan 04, 2004
OK it got un-installed I guess.... cause it's no longer there.

I think it would be an under statement if I said "WHAT"

If you did not install everything thru SDC then that means you have shareware versions installed on your machine. This is not good. Tell me exactly how you installed the proggies on your machine...I already know where we got SDC, so start with the rest.
